MEET THE TEAM
At Highstone Housing Association (HHA) we are a small team passionate about providing homes of outstanding quality for vulnerable adults and the elderly.
Joanne has extensive business experience in property development and lettings and has a strong desire and passion to deliver excellence in supported living. Joanne is responsible for the overall operation of Highstone Housing Association.
Steve has over 30 years’ experience in property development and site management. He is responsible for the operating model of each scheme, from land acquisition by Highstone Homes, development by Highstone Building Services to successful launch as a Highstone Housing Association scheme.
Lucy has graduated with a Masters in Town & Country Planning (MPlan). Involved at every stage from design through to scheme completion, Lucy’s responsibilities also include day to day management of schemes, overseeing the site management team, and the satisfaction of our tenants.
Gareth joins us with over 9 years’ experience working for national housebuilders and brings valuable contacts and experience to the Highstone team. Gareth’s key responsibilities at Highstone include sourcing land or property to meet client brief; then working with the site team on all technical aspects of the developments.
Louise has a wealth of financial and admin experience and is a qualified Management Accountant. She is involved in a range of activities at Highstone head office, including processing rents, housing benefit claims, invoices and data management.
Jane plays an important role in welcoming new tenants and their families to Highstone Housing. She visits schemes regularly ensuring repairs are completed and works closely with Care Providers to ensure the health and well-being of all our tenants.
Liz is responsible for ensuring HHA is compliant with the Home and Communities Agency (HCA) regulations & procedures. Liz is skilled in project management, an experienced school governor and is a trustee for a children’s charity.
Wayne is a skilled technician and has worked on a variety of development schemes. He has a range of skills and is a valued member of the team, involved from site development through to day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
With many years’ experience working in a legal environment, Felicity has joined Highstone as our repairs and maintenance administrator. Ensuring repairs are managed and completed promptly and to the satisfaction of our tenants and their care teams.
Having worked as a contractor with Highstone for many years, Scott has now joined the team full time to ensure that all our property grounds are maintained to the highest standard. Scott prides himself on being a real perfectionist in his job!
With a BA in English and 20 years’ experience of working with young people with individual needs; Lynne undertakes a wide range of activities at Highstone, supporting all aspects of the business.
Gareth is a skilled technician with a vast range of skills and experience. He is a valued member of the team, involved in all aspects of Highstone work, from site development through to maintenance and repairs.
Ben is a skilled technician and ground worker with a range of skills including operating a wide variety of plant machinery. A valued team member, he is involved from site development through to day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience working for Highstone. He is a qualified registered gas safe engineer, a qualified plumber, and skills across all trades. Chris manages scheme development and oversees maintenance once tenants have moved in.
Andy brings nearly 40 years’ of house building experience to the team. He excels in all aspects of joinery to ensure quality workmanship from development to maintenance & repairs.
Will brings tons of skills & enthusiasm to the Highstone team. Ensuring that all our property grounds are maintained to the highest standard, whilst also supporting the building team with all aspects of groundwork.
With many years’ experience of house building & site management, Phil excels in all aspects of joinery. He joins the Highstone team to ensure quality workmanship from development to maintenance & repairs.
Paul also joins the team with many years of house building & site management experience. Another fully qualified craftsman, ensuring high quality workmanship from development to maintenance & repairs.
Dan has joined the team on an Apprenticeship scheme. Working for Highstone alongside pursuing a course of study at Wakefield College to complete Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating, Dan has already started acquiring some very valuable skills.
Board of Directors
Highstone Housing Association is governed by a board of directors, whose responsibility it is to ensure HHA is compliant with its statutory and legal obligations as set out in its Articles of Association. Board members give their time voluntarily and are committed to providing homes of outstanding quality in partnership with local authorities.
Our board members have a rich and diverse skill set and experience, which is a great asset to HHA and its tenants.
Joanne Hawley, Executive Director
Joanne is a founding member of the HHA board and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge as a landlord, property developer and business manager. She has previous board experience with a larger social housing association.
Steve Hawley, Executive Director
With a career spanning over 30 years in the construction and lettings industry, Steve understands the importance of developing quality homes and meeting the needs of tenants, owners and stakeholders across a wide range of developments. Steve is a founding board member.
Lucy Lloyd, Executive Director
Lucy uses her extensive knowledge to support the board in delivering excellence in scheme development and tenant satisfaction. She has a Masters in Town and Country Planning (MPlan) and spent her early career working for a large national construction company.
John Trout, Non-executive Director
John has considerable boardroom knowledge with a variety of businesses. He has particular skills in operational control, including; Working practice review/ amendment, risk analysis, employee motivation, ensuring agreed targets are met and driving business to achieve customer satisfaction.
Jayne Trout, Non-executive Director
Jayne has over thirty years’ experience in business accounting and payroll. She has considerable knowledge of budget, financial control and human resource activities. Jayne supports HHA with financial analysis, preparation of management and statutory accounts and financial performance monitoring.
Liz Bell, Non-executive Director (Chair)
Liz is our current Chair and joined the board in April 2016. She supports the board by using her experience, skills and knowledge of governance, compliance, business planning and project management gained over many years in industry and education.
